These instructions are for adding a 2nd Gen Decora Smart® Wi-Fi product to the My Leviton app. These products begin with the part number D2. For more information, please consult the article How Do I Know If My Decora Smart® Wi-Fi is 1st or 2nd Generation. If your part number starts with DW, please switch to the article Add a 1st Gen Decora Smart® Wi-Fi Device to the My Leviton App.
Preparing to Add a Device:
If no devices are currently enrolled into your My Leviton account, choose the Add a Device option.
Note: If you already have devices enrolled into your My Leviton account, then choose the green + button in the middle of the navigation bar, and select Device, and then advance to Step 1.
Please note that some of the products use Bluetooth during enrollment. You will be prompted to enable Bluetooth on your mobile device. Select Allow.
Step 1: Getting Started
The app will now search for devices that are in enrollment mode. If a device is found, advance to Step 2.
If none are found, then select the type of device that you are attempting to connect. If you have the packaging, you can scan the barcode to simplify the process.
If you choose not to scan the barcode, then select Decora Smart. Choose the type of device you are enrolling (i.e. Dimmer, Switch, etc.). Now select the device you are enrolling by model number:
When a product is brand new, the LED will be flashing green. If the device has been previously installed or if the LED has timed out, you can press "I don't see a flashing LED" to receive instructions to enter enrollment mode.
Confirm the Decora Smart device is ready for enrollment, with the LED quickly flashing green, and press "Yes, let's go!"
Step 2: Adding the device to your Wi-Fi network
To connect the device to the My Leviton cloud, it must be added to your Wi-Fi network. The app will guide you through the steps. After connecting via Bluetooth, you will provide the Wi-Fi network information and confirm that the Decora Smart device successfully connected to the cloud.
Choose the Device you wish to enroll, and the press Next.
Note, if you have more than one Decora Smart Gen 2 device in setup mode at the same time, you can use the sticker in the upper left corner of the mounting bracket to determine the device ID number.
The app will connect to the Decora Smart device over Bluetooth and download all the available Wi-Fi network.
Note, if you have any issues connecting during this step, please check if Bluetooth on your mobile device is connected to another product such as a Bluetooth headset or watch. If Bluetooth is being used, please disconnect from the products and try again.
Step 3: Connect to a Wi-Fi network
The app will provide a list of Wi-Fi networks available to the Decora Smart device. Choose the network with the best signal strength available that you are authorized to join.
Note: If your SSID is hidden, it will need to be visible during the enrollment process. Once the Decora Smart is enrolled, the SSID can be re-hidden.
Press Next.
Step 4: Enter the Wi-Fi password
Enter the Wi-Fi password for the Wi-Fi network that you selected.
Note, passwords are case specific. If you are in a safe location to show your password, press the eye icon to see the password that you entered.
Press Next.
Step 5: Enroll device
The My Leviton app then passes the Wi-Fi credentials to the Decora Smart device.
During the process, the LED on the device will indicate the current steps during setup. If the load is not in the off state when starting, the LED indications below may not be an exact match.
Watch the LED during Step 5. If your device does not successfully connect, advance to Step 5a.
Successful Wi-Fi connection:
Flashing green slows down to a slower rate:

Step 5a: Connection Failed
Incorrect Wi-Fi Password:
Flashing green slows down to a slower rate:

Wi-Fi information is being transferred from the app to the Decora Smart device
LED Blinks Amber:

The Decora Smart device could not connect to the Wi-Fi network. Please check the following:

Make sure you entered the password to join the Wi-Fi network that you selected

Make sure that all the characters in the password are in the correct case

Make sure that is adequate signal strength between the Decora Smart device and your Wi-Fi router or Access Point

If the device is unable to connect:
- Be certain to Factory Reset the device as follows:
- Hold the top of the rocker or button for 14 seconds
- After 7 seconds, the LED will turn amber, continue to hold
- After 14 seconds the LED will flash amber/red, release the rocker/button
- The device will reset. Wait for the LED to begin flashing green
- Press Try Again to start the setup process again.
Step 6: Finalize setup process
Choose an icon and enter a name for your device.
The Default name for the device will be the device identification LEVDS-Dimmer-xxxx.
Change the name of the device.
Note, You do not need to include the room name in the name for the device. Once the device is added, you will be able to place it in a Room to better organize your devices.
Congratulations!
Your Decora Smart device has now successfully connected to your My Leviton app. If you have not configured a connection to a voice service or IFTTT, you can click on a service to receive instructions for adding the service to your My Leviton account.
Press Finish.
