Troubleshooting
If a Decora Smart with HomeKit Technology device is not responding, it will need to be online before the firmware can be updated.
To return a device to online status, please do the following:
Step 1: *Power cycle the Decora Smart with HomeKit Technology device.
- If the device is a dimmer (DH6HD or DH1KD), first turn the dimmer on. Notice the LEDs on
the side showing the light level. Pull the bottom of the dim bar about ¼” towards you. The side LED will turn off. Wait a second and push the dim bar back in. The dimmer will reboot.
- If the device is a switch (DH15S), switch the circuit breaker for the circuit that is powering
the device off for 1 second, and then switch it back on. The dimmer will reboot.
Step 2: Wait about 2 minutes and verify that the device is back online by controlling it from the Leviton Decora Smart Home app.
If the device is not back online after 2 minutes, follow the procedure below (it is important that the steps are performed in the order shown):
- Using the Decora Smart Home app, remove the Decora Smart with HomeKit Technology device from the app by selecting Details for the device, and then Remove Accessory.
- Factory Reset the Decora Smart with HomeKit Technology device by pressing and holding the top rocker for 15 seconds. The LED will first turn amber, continue holding for 15 seconds until the LED flashes alternating red/amber, and then release the rocker. After a few seconds, the LED will flash green.
- Power cycle the device (see Step 1 above “Power cycle the Decora Smart with HomeKit device”)*.
- Close the Decora Smart Home app and the Apple Home app and make sure that neither of the apps are running in the background.
- Go to Settings on your iOS device and select Wi-Fi. Turn off Wi-Fi for a few seconds and then turn Wi-Fi back on.
- Power off your iOS device.
- Turn on your iOS device and open the Decora Smart Home app.
- Add the Decora Smart with HomeKit Technology device to the app using Add Accessory. Follow the on-screen prompts.
