While LED bulb manufacturing has improved, not all bulbs are built to the same standard. Some adjustments may be needed to obtain the best experience with a specific bulb. Flicker can be caused by several different things including general compatibility, wiring, load type, and configuration. Please read the article Checking and Updating Firmware on Decora Smart® Wi-Fi Devices and update your app on your mobile device as the first step to improve any dimming issues.
Bulb Compatibility:
Leviton works with many LED bulb manufactures to provide the widest range of compatibility. Please confirm your bulb is designated on the packaging or user instructions as 'dimmable'.
Leviton continually test bulbs and post our recommendations. Please use the Leviton LED Compatibility Selection Tool when purchasing bulbs for use with you Leviton Dimmers.

Wiring:
When investigating a bulb flicker issue a key question is if the flicker always occurs or if the issue only occurs at certain levels. Attempting to wire without a neutral may create a situation that causes the bulb to flicker at all levels and prevents the dimmer from operating properly. Please review the wiring installation video or How Do I Know If I Have a Neutral article.
Load Types:
Decora Smart Dimmers are designed to control traditional loads compatible with forward phase loads. These include Incandescent, LED and CFL. The 1KD is also rated to drive lights which use a magnetic low voltage transformer. Neither dimmer is rated to drive an Electronic Low Voltage (ELV) fixture. For applications requiring ELV control a Leviton PE400-10W Dimming Extender is recommended.
Device Setup:
If your Decora Smart Wi-Fi Dimmer is installed and working correctly but could use some tweaking, jump to the Advanced Settings in the app:
In the upper right corner of the dimmer choose the ⋮ Edit icon
Choose Device Settings
Choose Advanced Settings
Choose Dimming Behavior
Confirm the correct Bulb Type (typically LED) is chosen:
Some bulbs do not offer full range dimming. To ensure the best out of the box experience, the Decora Smart Dimmer defaults the minimum dim level to 10%. By moving the Minimum Level down you can lower the dim level to support the lowest levels compatible with your bulb. For bulbs that begin to flicker at lower levels, set the minimum level 1% above where the flickering occurs.
Adjust Dimming Range
The Adjust Control Timing option is used to expand dimmer compatibility with a broader range of bulbs. If you are experiencing an incompatibility, it is recommended to try each setting. Normal offers the widest range of LED bulb compatibility. You can change the setting to Medium and Extended to determine which setting offers the best dimming performance for your bulb:
