When setting up a DWVAA Dimmer and enabling Alexa on the device, Amazon will need to link your DWVAA to an Amazon account. If you already have the Alexa app or the Amazon app on your phone and are logged in with your Amazon account, the setup process will automatically use the Amazon account credentials to enable Alexa on your Voice Dimmer.
In most cases this reduces the steps during setup; however, if you wish to use a different Amazon account for your Alexa service on the Voice Dimmer be certain to log out of your Amazon Apps prior to enrolling your DWVAA Voice Dimmer. The My Leviton app setup flow will prompt you to enter your desired Amazon account credentials
If you currently have your DWVAA enrolled but Alexa is enabled/linked to the wrong Amazon account, following the following steps:
- Log out of your Amazon apps
- In the My Leviton app, go to the device settings
- Select “Amazon Alexa settings”
- Select “Log out of Amazon”
- This will disable Alexa on your device
- Now choose “Login with Amazon”
- Follow the My Leviton setup process to put the DWVAA in setup mode (My Leviton will connect directly to the device over Bluetooth to re-enable Alexa with your desired Amazon account)
During the setup flow, you will be prompted to specify the Amazon account credentials you would like to use - Once setup is completed, Alexa will let you know “Your Alexa device is ready”
Alexa is now enabled and tied to your desired Amazon account
