The Sensitivity and Ambient Light Level Settings for the D2MSD Decora Smart Wi-Fi Motion Sensing Dimmer can be adjusted in the My Leviton app.
Edit the settings by pressing the 3 dots [⋮] in the upper-right corner of the D2MSD card.
Choose Device Settings and the Advanced Settings.
Choose Motion Sensor Options.
Choose Motion Sensor Calibration.
Choose Start Calibration.
Setting Motion Sensitivity
- The Red LED in the motion lens will slowly flash to indicate you are in calibration mode
- The Red LED is not an indication of motion while in the calibration mode
- Each time the motion detector detects occupancy while in calibration mode, it will turn the controlled light on for 5 seconds
- Changing the Motion Sensitivity will instruct the motion detector to be more or less sensitive
- Move to locations in the room and wait for the light to turn of
- Try small movement like rocking back and forth to see if you are detected
- Try bigger movement like a step to the left and right
- Choose locations where you can see the Motion Detector; if you can see the Motion Detector, it can likely see you
- Obstructions like glass will affect a motion detector's ability to see motion
- In most cases you will want to leave the sensitivity on high
- Reducing sensitivity is typically to keep motion in a secondary area like another room from causing the light to turn on in the primary area
Setting Ambient Light Sensor
- The ambient light sensor is used to prevent the light from turning on when there is already light being provided from the windows (natural light) or other light sources in the room
- The level is set based on your desired operation
- Low (Darker) - The light will only be turned on in a low or no light situation
- Medium - The best compromise between energy savings and the convenience of turning on lights
- High (Brighter) - The light will be turned on in most situations, including when there is already plenty of natural light
Press done when sensor calibration is complete
